Through its 'Government Position on Preventing Flood Damage in the Imjingang River during the Rainy Season,' distributed to the media on this day, the Ministry of Unification explained, "Joint response to natural disasters is a humanitarian matter, and the South and the North have reached several agreements on cooperation to prevent flood damage in the Imjingang River."
The Ministry of Unification emphasized, "The Lee Jaemyung administration recognizes that protecting the lives and safety of the people is the most important duty of the state," adding, "Advance notification by North Korea regarding dam water releases is directly related to the lives and safety of our citizens residing in the border areas."
