Daegu Urban Development Corporation Opens 'Gunwi Local Food Direct Store Daegu Branch No. 1' in Seobyeon-dong
Signed MOU with Gunwi County
Selling Fresh Food at Affordable Prices
Daegu Urban Development Corporation (President Jung Myungseop) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gunwi County on June 25 at the Universiade Sports Center in Seobyeon-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, to establish a model for urban-rural coexistence. The two parties also held the opening ceremony for the 'Gunwi Local Food Direct Store Daegu Branch No. 1' at the same venue.
This agreement aims to expand stable sales channels for local agricultural products, ensure fresh food for urban consumers, and lay the foundation for urban-rural coexistence. The corporation plans to operate the local food direct store by utilizing unused space at the Universiade Sports Center, thereby increasing the social value of public assets.
The local food direct store receives and displays vegetables, fruits, and processed foods harvested directly by Gunwi County farmers on the morning of the same day, ensuring freshness and quality. These products are offered to consumers at prices lower than market rates. This is expected to not only increase the income of Gunwi farmers but also help stabilize food prices for Daegu citizens.
Jung Myungseop, President of Daegu Urban Development Corporation, stated, "This agreement is a meaningful example of transforming the corporation's assets into a platform for regional coexistence," and added, "We will actively cooperate to ensure that both Gunwi County farmers and residents of Buk-gu, Daegu, benefit from this initiative."
