Yangsan City Finalizes Name of Youth Information Platform as 'Cheongnyeongakkai'
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province has finalized the official name of its online platform for providing tailored, integrated information to young people as 'Cheongnyeongakkai'.
This naming contest was launched to raise awareness of the Yangsan City Youth Policy Platform through the voluntary participation of young people and citizens, and to strengthen both the symbolic value and accessibility of the platform.
The final selection of the name was conducted via online voting through the Yangsan Love Card app over a 16-day period from May 29 to June 13. A total of 2,136 citizens participated in the vote, demonstrating high levels of interest and engagement.
The chosen name, 'Cheongnyeongakkai', means 'a digital platform that brings youth and policy closer together.' By combining the Korean word for 'closer' and the letter 'e' (for electronic), the name conveys both a sense of familiarity and a digital-friendly image. Its emphasis on information accessibility and practicality resonated strongly with citizens, and it was selected as the best name with a 36.3% share of the votes in the online poll.
Currently, through the 'Cheongnyeongakkai' platform, the city provides integrated information and policies in various fields, including youth employment, housing, welfare, participation, and culture. Moving forward, Yangsan City plans to continuously enhance the platform's content and features to deliver the information young people need quickly and easily. In particular, the city will strengthen its role as a real-time communication channel by expanding a system for collecting opinions at all times, so that the voices of young people can be reflected in city policies.
An official from Yangsan City stated, "'Cheongnyeongakkai' will go beyond being a simple information platform to become an integrated gateway where young people can truly experience policy. We will continue to work to narrow the distance between the city and youth and to bring about real change."
