Icheon to Launch City Bus Route 525 Between Gamgok Janghowon Station and Icheon Terminal Starting July 1
Consolidation of Six Existing Routes Shortens Bus Intervals
Route 271 Increases Daily Operations from 5 to 6 Times
The city of Icheon in Gyeonggi Province announced on June 24 that it will launch the operation of city bus route 525, which will run round-trip between Gamgok Janghowon Station and Icheon Terminal, starting July 1.
The new route consolidates six existing routes, including route 25, which had been operating with irregular intervals. Through this, the city explained that it has shortened the intervals between buses and improved punctuality, while also enhancing access to the station and terminal for residents in transportation-vulnerable areas such as Yul-myeon.
The new route will depart from Gamgok Janghowon Station, pass through Yul-myeon, Seolseong-myeon, Moga-myeon, Godam-dong, and other areas, and travel to Icheon Terminal. It will operate 32 times a day at intervals of 25 to 35 minutes.
In addition, the city will increase the number of daily operations of city bus route 271 (formerly route 22-9) from five to six times, starting July 1.
Both the 525 and 271 city buses will be operated under the "Gyeonggi-do City Bus Public Management System Route Bidding Type." The city stated that it will continue to pursue route adjustments in parallel with the Gyeonggi-do City Bus Public Management System to provide stable public transportation services.
