Kyun Taek Park to Hold 'Legislative Report Meeting' Marking 1st Anniversary of 22nd National Assembly
June 21, Grand Theater of Gwangsan Culture and Arts Center
"A Time to Listen Directly to Residents' Valuable Opinions"
Kyun Taek Park, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker representing Gwangsan-gap in Gwangju, announced on June 18 that he will hold a legislative report meeting at 2 p.m. on June 21 at the Grand Theater of the Gwangsan Culture and Arts Center to mark the first anniversary of the 22nd National Assembly's inauguration.
This legislative report meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for Representative Park to directly explain to local residents his legislative activities over the past year as a lawmaker, as well as his vision for the future of Gwangsan-gu.
Representative Park stated, "With the inauguration of the Lee Jaemyung administration, an environment has now been created where we can fully focus on the development of Gwangsan," and added, "I hope this will be a time to look back on the past year's legislative activities together with residents and to listen to their valuable opinions."
The first year of the 22nd National Assembly was marked by a series of both major and minor incidents under the Yoon Sukyeol administration, culminating in the 12·3 Martial Law incident. This was followed by nationwide resistance and the 'Revolution of Light,' leading to the inauguration of the Lee Jaemyung administration. This period is regarded as an unprecedented era of upheaval in the history of the constitution.
As the head of the Democratic Party's Legal Affairs Committee and a member of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Representative Park has played a key role in ending the rebellion and restoring order to state affairs.
In particular, during last year's parliamentary audit, he was recognized for his efforts in confronting the Yoon Sukyeol administration, earning the distinction of being a three-time recipient of the 'Outstanding Lawmaker in Parliamentary Audit' award, thereby demonstrating his exceptional legislative capabilities.
Meanwhile, Representative Park actively reflected numerous issues concerning Gwangsan-gu in the Democratic Party's platform during the June 3 presidential election. He has also been appointed as a member of the Lee Jaemyung administration's National Policy Planning Committee, where he is taking the lead in having major local issues adopted as national policy tasks.
