On that day, Governor Ku visited two sites: the Seotae 2 District Flood Damage Living Zone Comprehensive Maintenance Project and the Hwasuncheon River Disaster Prevention Project. He focused on thoroughly checking the management status of the sites, the installation of safety facilities, and the establishment of emergency communication systems.
The Seotae 2 District Flood Damage Living Zone Comprehensive Maintenance Project is an integrated maintenance initiative aimed at preventing flood damage in rivers and low-lying areas adjacent to residential zones. The project includes the installation of drainage pump stations, maintenance of small rivers, and improvement of drainage channels. A total budget of 41.5 billion KRW has been allocated, with the project scheduled for completion in 2027.
The Hwasuncheon River Disaster Prevention Project involves a total budget of 11 billion KRW and aims to improve embankments, revetments, and drainage facilities. The goal is to create a river that is safe from typhoons and heavy rainfall, with project completion targeted for 2026.
Governor Ku Bokgyu emphasized, "As abnormal weather and localized heavy rainfall are expected to occur more frequently, the importance of disaster prevention projects closely related to the safety of residents is increasing. We will do our utmost to ensure that residents can live with peace of mind through continuous inspections and preparedness."
