Gwangjin District Offers Commemorative Gifts to New Residents Who Join Eco Mileage Program
"Expecting Energy-Saving Practices in Daily Life"
Gwangjin District in Seoul is promoting energy-saving practices at home through the operation of the Eco Mileage program. Eco Mileage is a participatory service by the Seoul Metropolitan Government that supports carbon neutrality efforts by awarding mileage points based on the amount of electricity, water, and gas saved. These mileage points can be used for Onnuri gift certificates, Seoul Sarang gift certificates, or for paying local taxes.

In preparation for the surge in electricity demand during the peak summer season, the district is encouraging residents to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The district is encouraging new residents to sign up for Eco Mileage. From the initial stage of moving in, new residents are actively guided to participate in energy-saving initiatives. Starting from June 23, residents who have newly moved into the district will receive commemorative gifts such as silicone zipper bags and reusable shopping bags to promote carbon neutrality. These gifts will be distributed one per household until all 1,200 items are given out.
Residents can sign up for Eco Mileage through the official website or mobile app, and must register at least two items among electricity, water, and gas. For more information, contact the Environment Division of Gwangjin District Office at 02-450-7333.
