KOSPI Recovers 2,900 Level... Individuals and Foreigners Turn Sellers
KOSDAQ Opens Lower
On June 16, the KOSPI started trading with a slight upward trend, remaining above the 2,900 level. The KOSDAQ began the session lower but has been fluctuating within the 760 to 770 range.
As of 9:14 a.m. on the same day, the KOSPI was up 0.28% from the previous trading day, standing at 2,902.77. The index opened at 2,903.50, an increase of 0.31% from the previous session. Institutional investors recorded a net purchase of 61.3 billion won, while individual investors and foreign investors sold 12.7 billion won and 45.3 billion won, respectively.
By sector, construction (2.71%), machinery and equipment (2.43%), IT services (1.52%), securities (1.27%), electricity and gas (0.80%), finance (0.33%), and insurance (0.31%) were on the rise. Meanwhile, medical and precision instruments (-1.56%), paper and wood (-0.64%), chemicals (-0.51%), and metals (-0.41%) showed significant declines.
Among large-cap stocks, SK Hynix (2.34%), Hanwha Aerospace (2.22%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (1.99%) were gaining, while Samsung Electronics (-1.03%), Samsung Biologics (-0.29%), LG Energy Solution (-1.86%), KB Financial Group (-0.09%), Hyundai Motor (-0.95%), and Kia (-1.54%) were falling.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was up 0.17% from the previous trading day, standing at 770.17. The index opened at 767.64, down 0.16% from the previous session, but soon turned upward. Foreign investors and institutions bought 9.5 billion won and 23.9 billion won, respectively, while individual investors sold 33.6 billion won.
By sector, food, beverage and tobacco (1.33%), telecommunications (1.20%), pharmaceuticals (0.29%), metals (0.11%), and IT services (0.01%) were rising. In contrast, chemicals (-1.08%), electrical and electronics (-0.82%), medical and precision instruments (-0.65%), machinery and equipment (-0.44%), construction (-0.40%), manufacturing (-0.36%), distribution (-0.35%), and finance (-0.29%) were declining.

Among the top KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, Alteogen (5.64%), PharmaResearch (3.58%), Hugel (3.58%), Peptron (0.11%), and Legochem Bio (3.31%) were advancing, while EcoPro BM (-1.63%), HLB (-3.61%), EcoPro (-1.52%), Rainbow Robotics (-0.54%), and Classys (-1.50%) were falling.
