Prosecution Seeks Two-Year Prison Term for Man Who Assaulted Journalist During Western District Court Riot

View original imageOn June 11, during the final hearing for Moon, presided over by Chief Judge Park Jiwon of the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Western District Court, the prosecution requested a two-year prison sentence on charges including aggravated assault and aggravated trespassing of a special building.
According to the prosecution, on January 19, during the riot at the Western District Court, Moon knocked down and assaulted a video journalist who was filming in front of the courthouse, causing injuries that required two weeks of treatment. He is also accused of threatening the victim and taking the camera's memory card.
Moon stated, "I acknowledge that my actions were truly wrong, and I would like to apologize to the victim."
