Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town Opens... Supporting Companies from Startup to Growth
Built on the Site of the Former Cheongyang Girls' Information High School
One Basement Floor and Four Above-Ground Floors
The 'Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town,' which supports companies from startup to growth, is now officially in operation.
On June 10, Chungnam Province held an opening ceremony for the Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town in Songbang-ri, Cheongyang-eup, Cheongyang-gun, with over 300 participants including Vice Governor Jeon Hyungsik, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council Jeong Gwangseop, Cheongyang County Governor Kim Dongon, and representatives of social economy enterprises.
The Innovation Town supports all aspects of business operations for social economy enterprises, from startup and education to building networks among resident companies and consulting.
With a total project cost of 28.7 billion won, funded by the national government, the province, and the county, the facility was built on the site of the former Cheongyang Girls' Information High School. It consists of one basement floor and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of approximately 7,300 square meters.
The facility is equipped with a prototype production room, exhibition and sales hall, meeting rooms, video production studio, classrooms, dedicated office spaces for resident companies, and a cafe.
The province plans to continue recruiting both resident and registered companies on an ongoing basis.
Vice Governor Jeon Hyungsik stated, "The Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town will serve as a core space that elevates the value of the region's social economy beyond being just a physical space," adding, "We will focus on discovering and promoting various support projects for social economy enterprises centered around the Innovation Town, and do our utmost to help them grow."
