"Why Is Physics the Greatest Discipline?"
The G-Lamp Project Group at National Pukyong University (headed by Professor Youngseok Kim) successfully hosted the 'G-Lamp Project Group LAMP-SEED Guest Seminar' with Professor Sangwook Kim (Department of Physics, Kyung Hee University) as the invited speaker.

View original imageThis seminar, jointly organized by the G-Lamp Project Group, the College of Natural Sciences, and the Department of Physics at National Pukyong University, was held at the university theater on May 30, 2025, in the afternoon. More than 300 participants, including undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff, attended the event.
Professor Sangwook Kim, the invited speaker, delivered an enthusiastic three-hour lecture on the topic "Why Is Physics the Greatest Discipline?" During his talk, he engaged in thoughtful communication with the audience about the essence and philosophy of science, and the role of academia in modern society, leaving a deep impression on those present.
After the lecture, Professor Sangwook Kim shared his thoughts, saying, "Today, I could vividly feel the passion and potential of emerging researchers in the field of natural sciences. Through exchanges with students, I am once again hopeful for the future of science."
The G-Lamp Project Group at National Pukyong University organized this seminar as part of its program aimed at fostering interdisciplinary research and nurturing future talent, with the goals of advancing scientific understanding of the global water cycle, responding to climate change, and realizing a sustainable water environment. The group plans to continue expanding academic programs that promote interdisciplinary research and the development of young scientific talent.
