Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo to Visit Quebec, Canada and Boston, U.S. for Official Trip Starting June 10

View original imageThe Daejeon city government announced that Mayor Lee Jangwoo will visit Quebec, Canada, and Boston, United States, from June 10 to 18 to expand global cooperation in Daejeon's strategic industries, including aerospace, bio, semiconductor, and quantum sectors.
Accompanying this official overseas trip are an economic delegation composed of promising entrepreneurs from each field, a quantum delegation consisting of researchers from the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), as well as representatives from Hanbat National University and Daejeon Technopark.
For his first official schedule, Mayor Lee will hold a meeting with aerospace industry institutions and companies in Montreal, Canada, to establish a foundation for future joint projects through B2B exchanges and sharing of industrial information.
He will then attend the Montreal Conference, a leading North American policy forum to which he has been specially invited, and sign a research and innovation cooperation agreement between governments with the Quebec Minister of Economy.
On June 12, he will visit the Bromont semiconductor cluster in Quebec to hold an industry meeting, and in the afternoon, he will visit the Sherbrooke quantum cluster to attend the "Daejeon City-Quebec Quantum Industry International Cooperation Forum" hosted by the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science.
On June 13, he will discuss Daejeon's membership in the Global Innovation Network of Innovation Cities (GINI) in Quebec, then travel to Boston, United States, where he will encourage local companies participating in BIO USA, the world's largest bio exhibition, starting on June 16. He will also discuss ways to cooperate in the bio industry with the Montgomery County executive and other local government officials.
Mayor Lee Jangwoo stated, "Quebec and Boston are each leading science and technology hubs representing Canada and the United States," adding, "This trip will serve as an important stepping stone for Daejeon's future industries as we leap into the global market."
