Dongmyung University Emergency Medical Services Students Provide Medical Support and CPR Training at Songjeong Beach Futsal Tournament for Elementary and Middle Schools
Dongmyung University announced that first- and second-year students from the Department of Emergency Medical Services participated in the 2nd Songjeong Beach Elementary and Middle School Futsal Tournament held at Songjeong Beach in Busan on June 6, 2025, where they provided medical support and volunteered to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

View original imageTo ensure the safe progress of the sports festival for local elementary and middle school students, 11 students from the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dongmyung University provided medical support in preparation for emergencies that could occur during the matches. At the same time, they gave hands-on training in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the general public and parents.
Kim Sungju, head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services, stated, "This was our second time participating following last year, and it was a valuable opportunity for students to develop their emergency response skills and adaptability in real-life situations," adding, "It is an example of our department's educational philosophy of growing together with the local community in practice."
Jang Yundeok, a professor in the Department of Emergency Medical Services, commented, "The educational impact was significant because we not only provided medical support but also conducted first aid training for citizens at the same time," and evaluated, "It was a meaningful field experience where students were able to prove their skills by communicating with people of various ages in a real setting like the beach."
