Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will hold an open week for the Jinan County Youth Center 'Wollang' from June 17 to 21, ahead of its official operation.
According to the county on June 9, this open week is intended to promote the Jinan Youth Center both within and outside the region, and to provide opportunities for visitors to experience a variety of programs and spaces. The center is a four-story building, featuring shared spaces such as meeting rooms and small group rooms, as well as a youth share house.
On the first day of the open week, June 17, an information session for prospective residents of the youth share house will be held at 6:30 p.m. On the last day, June 21, a 'Summer Solstice Youth Festival' celebrating the center's opening will take place at 10:00 a.m.
On the day of the festival, a variety of programs will be offered, including a jazz performance by the youth musician 'Sallae Jazz Trio,' a small youth market, a potato dish sharing event, an introduction to the youth center's spaces, a 'Youth Four-Cut Summer Solstice' photo event, and hands-on booths for making mosquito repellent, herb sticks, and cubes, among others. In addition, small gifts such as coffee coupons will be provided through user registration events and on-site raffles.
Going forward, the Jinan County Youth Center plans to establish itself as a hub for local youth activities by offering customized education, network building, and youth policy information for county residents aged 18 to 45. The center will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and will be closed on Mondays, Sundays, and public holidays.
County Governor Jeon Chunseong said, "I hope the 'Wollang' Youth Center will nurture the dreams and potential of Jinan's youth and become a space that revitalizes the local community. I look forward to many young people experiencing the center firsthand and making active use of it during the open week."
