Seongbuk-gu to Open First "Children and Youth Library" on June 14
Establishing a Specialized Cultural Space
for Children and Youth
Seongbuk-gu in Seoul will open the Seongbuk Children and Youth Library in Samseon-dong on June 14. This library is the first in Seongbuk-gu to specialize in children and youth, and it will be established as a community-based, multi-purpose cultural space.
The Seongbuk Children and Youth Library covers an area of approximately 300 pyeong, and consists of one basement level and four above-ground floors, offering 218 reading seats. Each floor is designed as a specialized space according to users' age groups and purposes. The basement level is dedicated to an infant collection room, the first floor to a children's collection room, the second floor to a youth collection room, the third floor to a creative studio, and the fourth floor to a rooftop garden and seminar room. In addition to reading, the library will provide a variety of content, including cultural programs and career experience opportunities.
Under the slogan "A Page of the Future Growing Through Books," the library is expected to help children and youth shape their futures through books. The opening ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 14, featuring a celebratory performance, a progress report on the project, an unveiling ceremony, and commemorative photography, among other events.
