The main content of the video highlights that a total of 56 plant species are native to Dokdo. It introduces the 'island lobelia,' which can be found only on Ulleungdo and Dokdo worldwide.
Additionally, the video reminds viewers that 100 years ago, Japan registered the scientific names of Dokdo's native plants using Japanese nomenclature in order to secure research priority, targeting the potential value of these plants. The video emphasizes the need for efforts to reclaim these names.
Professor Seo, who planned the video, said, "This is the fourth video following those on Dokdo's symbolic animals such as the sea lion, Sapsal dog, and Dokdo shrimp," and added, "I wanted to produce a series of videos on Dokdo's representative flora and fauna to widely promote them both domestically and internationally."
He also noted, "We are spreading the video not only through YouTube but also via various social networking services (SNS), and we are consistently sharing it with major Korean and international student communities around the world."
