A total of 166 police officers from the traffic patrol, traffic enforcement, and traffic crime investigation teams, along with 54 patrol vehicles and police motorcycles, will be deployed to patrol and enforce the law across the city.
The operation will focus on major intersections and locations where gatherings of street racers and reckless two-wheeled vehicle drivers are anticipated. Drunk driving checkpoints will also be operated simultaneously. Through the deployment of police at key points and visible police presence, the authorities aim to ensure traffic safety and minimize inconvenience to citizens.
In addition, the Gwangju Police Agency and the Autonomous Police Committee will conduct joint crackdowns, in cooperation with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and local governments, not only on street racing with two-wheeled vehicles, but also on violations of the Automobile Management Act, such as noise and illegal structural modifications.
