View original imageAt the briefing, 17 people, including Hyuncheol Kim, CEO of the Pocheon City Youth Foundation and chairman of the Education Development Committee, as well as education officials and experts, attended. Sookyung Nam, a professor in the Department of Education at Kangwon National University and the lead researcher for the project, presented the research achievements to date and exchanged various opinions with the attendees.
During the meeting, participants shared analyses of Pocheon's regional and educational conditions, investigations of best practices from other local governments, plans for a survey of citizens' educational needs, and a draft of the mid- to long-term development plan. There was also an in-depth discussion on practical implementation strategies for building a Pocheon-style future education model.
The committee members emphasized the need for concrete implementation strategies to improve Pocheon's educational environment and stressed the importance of a regionally tailored curriculum, offering a variety of suggestions.
Pocheon City plans to thoroughly review the diverse opinions discussed at the briefing and actively reflect them in the plan, aiming to complete the Pocheon City Education Development Mid- to Long-Term Basic Plan in a more effective and practical manner.
