Jinju City to Provide Employment Incentives ... Launches New Middle-Aged Tomorrow Connection 50+ Program
Reducing Labor Cost Burden for Local SMEs and Mid-Sized Companies
Providing 2.5 Million Won Employment Incentive Per Worker
Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on June 4 that it will implement the "2025 New Middle-Aged Tomorrow Connection 50+ Program" to provide reemployment opportunities for middle-aged job seekers and to ease the labor cost burden on local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies.
The "New Middle-Aged Tomorrow Connection 50+ Program" is a project that provides employment incentives to companies hiring middle-aged workers, aiming to encourage employment among the middle-aged generation and address labor shortages in the manufacturing sector. Through this program, Jinju City will support up to 20 individuals.
Eligible companies are SMEs and mid-sized enterprises located in Jinju City that have newly hired middle-aged job seekers (aged 50 to 64, based on resident registration) after January 1, 2025. Only companies whose business registration certificate specifies "manufacturing" as their business type are eligible to participate.
The support amount is 2.5 million won per middle-aged employee. Companies can apply for the employment incentive after newly hiring middle-aged workers, paying their wages for five months, and maintaining their employment. Depending on the number of employees insured under employment insurance per company, support is available for up to two employees per company.
A city official stated, "Through this program, we expect middle-aged individuals to receive quality jobs and companies to connect with the talent they need," adding, "We hope many interested companies will participate."
