Yangsan Branch of Ministry of Employment and Labor Launches "Labor Management 119 Task Force" for Emergency Support to Small and Crisis-Stricken Businesses
The Ministry of Employment and Labor Yangsan Branch Office (headed by Kwon Guhyung) has launched a dedicated "Labor Management 119 Task Force" as of June 1, 2025, to provide support for small businesses with fewer than 30 employees and companies facing management crises.
"Labor Management 119" is a program that offers education and counseling on basic labor law compliance?such as employment contracts and wages?for small businesses lacking labor management capacity. It also provides emergency, tailored assistance to companies in crisis situations, such as bankruptcy or closure, including resolving unpaid wages and providing employment retention subsidies.
The Yangsan Branch Office quickly resolved unpaid wages and severance pay totaling 3.9 billion KRW during the bankruptcy of a company based in Gimhae last year, and also supported the unemployed workers in receiving unemployment benefits and finding new employment.
In 2024, the office responded to seven businesses in crisis and achieved results by assisting a total of approximately 1,300 workers.
This new task force consists of four teams led by experienced labor inspectors, and companies can contact or apply directly to the Yangsan Branch Office for assistance.
