Gangbuk-gu Opens Four Barefoot Walking Trails Totaling 2km
Barefoot Walking Trails Open in Uicheon, Odong, and Solbat Parks
Experience Nature and Wellness in the Heart of the City
On June 2, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, announced that it had newly created and opened four barefoot walking trails totaling 2 kilometers in length, starting from May 31.
The newly established trails are the Uicheon Cherry Blossom Walking Trail (1,530m), Odong Neighborhood Park Zone 'Na' (200m), Odong Neighborhood Park Zone 'Da' (200m), and Solbat Neighborhood Park (70m). These trails have been constructed as health walking paths using a mixture of decomposed granite and yellow soil. Various amenities such as foot-washing stations and yellow soil ball zones have been added, along with newly planted flowering plants and various trees, enhancing the vibrancy of nature and the joy of walking.
In particular, the Uicheon Cherry Blossom Walking Trail (from Sinchanggyo Bridge to Wolgye 2-gyo Bridge) is the longest section at 1.5 kilometers. The trail features hydrangea landscapes and paths with varying ratios of yellow soil and decomposed granite, allowing walkers to experience a unique sensation with every step.
The Odong Neighborhood Park walking trails are connected to the children's forest experience center, making them especially appealing to families. At Solbat Neighborhood Park, a yellow soil experience zone has been prepared, allowing people of all ages to engage their senses and feel the soft texture of yellow soil.
The district expects that the creation of these walking trails will greatly contribute to improving residents' health and expanding leisure and relaxation spaces within the city. In addition, the 'Hwagyesa Temple Forest Healing Trail,' scheduled for completion this month, is also being developed as a healing space for meditation and recovery.
