On May 30, Sangju City in North Gyeongsang Province signed a "Business Agreement for Emergency Transportation for Resident Evacuation" with four chartered bus transportation companies within the city (Raon Express Tour Co., Ltd., Munhwa Tour Co., Ltd., Sujeong Tour Travel Agency Co., Ltd., and Sujeong Tour Cargo Co., Ltd.).

View original imageThe purpose of this agreement is to establish a proactive response system to safely and swiftly evacuate citizens in the event of large-scale disasters such as wildfires, landslides, storm and flood damage, or earthquakes. Sangju City has begun preparing a system that can reduce traffic congestion and efficiently transport large numbers of people.
Under the agreement, each company will jointly utilize information on transportation equipment and manpower support, and has pledged to provide top-priority assistance in the event of a disaster. Through this, the city expects to prevent safety accidents that may occur during the evacuation process and to ensure rapid transportation.
Kang Youngseok, mayor of Sangju City, stated, "We will always prioritize the protection of citizens' lives and property in any disaster situation," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure swift and safe evacuations by working closely with chartered bus companies."
With this agreement, Sangju City plans to further strengthen its local disaster response capabilities and focus on ensuring the safety of residents.
