It will take place in the park next to the Seogu Children's Ecological Learning Library, where children will observe and experience nature firsthand, then express their experiences through writing and creative activities.
Children participating in the program will walk along the forest path next to the library and in nearby parks, experiencing nature and gaining opportunities to explore nature through a visit to the city arboretum.
After the experience, they will have time to express their experiences in their own words and stories through creative activities such as diary writing, terrarium making, and creating rubbings.
The 'Humanities Adventure' will be held a total of five times through July, featuring activities based on the following themes: 'Flowers Are People' by poet Na Taejoo, 'Writing Poems to Befriend Nature' by poet Ahn Dohyun, 'Leaf Diary' by artist Heo Yunhee, 'Nature Observation Diary' by Claire Walker Leslie, and 'The Mind for Ecological Writing' by book culture ecologist Jung Yunhee.
Hanmi, the library director, said, "I hope this will be a valuable time for children to think for themselves and develop the ability to express their thoughts in writing while in nature," and added, "We will continue to expand the program to establish ecological humanities education beyond knowledge-centered education."
