Gongju Pay to Offer 10% Cashback at All Times Starting in June
Monthly Limit of 700,000 Won... Up to 70,000 Won in Benefits
On May 29, Gongju City in South Chungcheong Province announced that starting in June, the cashback rate for the local currency "Gongju Pay" will be maintained at 10% at all times.
The city made this decision to stimulate local consumption and support small business owners, following the confirmation of the government's supplementary budget, which secured national funding for local gift certificates.
As a result, regardless of the recharge date, users can receive 10% cashback on payments made with Gongju Pay within a monthly limit of 700,000 won, with a maximum monthly benefit of 70,000 won.
Previously, in accordance with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2024 Comprehensive Guidelines for the Local Gift Certificate Issuance Support Project," the city switched the operation method of Gongju Pay from a pre-discount system to a post-payment reimbursement system starting April 10.
Mayor Choi Woncheol stated, "We will continue to operate the Gongju Pay policy to revitalize local consumption and provide practical support to small business owners," adding, "We will also continue to pursue various policies to inject vitality into the local economy."
