"Report Environmental Public Interest Violations"... Gyeonggi Province Accepts Reports Until June 11
Gyeonggi Province will operate an intensive reporting period for environmental public interest violations from May 29 to June 11, ahead of 'Environment Day' (June 6).
The main targets for reporting include: ▲ unauthorized discharge of wastewater ▲ operation of unregistered air pollutant emission facilities ▲ violations in the management of waste treatment facilities ▲ illegal recycling ▲ failure to install covers on construction waste, among others.
The Gyeonggi Province Audit Committee will also carry out customized promotional activities to encourage reporting during this period. In addition, promotional materials containing major cases of environmental public interest violations that may be encountered in daily life, reporting methods, and information on reward and incentive systems will be distributed to resident centers in towns, townships, and neighborhoods across 31 cities and counties, as well as to the open civil service office at the provincial government.

Public interest reporting in Gyeonggi Province refers to the reporting of 495 types of legal violations related to provincial affairs, which are categorized under public health and safety, environment, consumer interests, fair competition, and the public interest. This includes ▲ reporting public interest and corruption violations ▲ reporting violations of the code of conduct ▲ reporting improper solicitations and receipt of money or valuables ▲ reporting conflicts of interest ▲ reporting fraudulent claims, among others.
