Achieved Outstanding Results in All Five Indicators
On May 28, Sejong City announced that it had been selected as the top institution for the third consecutive year in the "2025 National Local Government Joint Evaluation in the Forestry Sector," organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
In the evaluation of 17 provinces and metropolitan cities nationwide, Sejong City achieved outstanding results in all five indicators, including the cultivation of healthy and sustainable forest resources, the establishment rate of landslide prevention and response systems, and the achievement of wildfire prevention performance.
In particular, the city received high marks for strengthening landslide and wildfire prevention activities, conducting timely monitoring and control of forest pests and diseases, and completing erosion control projects ahead of schedule.
Sejong City continued its streak of honors by being selected as an excellent institution from 2020 to 2022, and as the top institution from 2023 to 2025, marking six consecutive years of recognition.
Kwon Youngseok, Director of Environment and Greenery, stated, "Being selected as the top institution for three consecutive years is the result of our staff's continuous efforts to advance forest administration," adding, "We will create a safe environment from forest disasters and establish a virtuous cycle of sustainable forest management to provide the best forest administration."
