Renault Korea Expands Mid- to Long-Term Collaboration with Korea Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute
Joint Development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
Renault Korea announced on May 28 that it has signed a second business agreement with the Korea Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute (KIAPI) for the joint development of autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

View original imageThis agreement primarily aims to strengthen mutual cooperation in research personnel, equipment, and resources for Renault Korea's mid- to long-term projects. Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly carry out more than 10 ADAS projects in the future and conduct various vehicle driving performance tests together. They expect this collaboration to enhance the efficiency of autonomous driving and ADAS technology development, reduce development time, and lower costs.
Renault Korea has maintained a cooperative relationship with KIAPI since its establishment in 2009. In 2018, the two parties jointly established the Renault Group's first vehicle testing center in Asia. Subsequently, in January of last year, Renault Korea signed its first business agreement with KIAPI and successfully developed the ADAS system installed in the Grand Koleos. The Grand Koleos equipped with the ADAS system received the highest rating in the 2024 KNCAP (Korea New Car Assessment Program).

This will serve as a foundation for successfully carrying out mid- to long-term projects."
