Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun underwent a 12-hour investigation by prosecutors regarding allegations that political broker Myung Taegyun intervened in candidate nominations and manipulated public opinion polls.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on May 26, Mayor Oh appeared at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on May 25 and was questioned for about 12 hours, from 9:30 a.m. to around 9:30 p.m. Mayor Oh was reportedly summoned and questioned as a suspect on charges including violations of the Political Funds Act.

Prosecutors are investigating whether the 33 million won that Kim Hanjung, known as a supporter of Mayor Oh, transferred to Myung on five occasions between February and March 2021?prior to the April 7, 2021 Seoul mayoral by-election?was related to Mayor Oh. Myung claims that he met Mayor Oh seven times and that he was of great help to Mayor Oh's victory.
However, Mayor Oh's side refutes Myung's claims, stating that contact was cut off after meeting Myung twice. Although they did meet through an introduction by former lawmaker Kim Youngsun, Mayor Oh's camp asserts that there was a major dispute with Myung during the campaign, after which all ties were severed. They also claim that Mayor Oh never received the "unpublished public opinion poll" that Myung refers to.
Mayor Oh himself has repeatedly raised his voice against Myung. On April 30, he posted on Facebook an open letter titled "To Myung Taegyun," in which he wrote, "I cannot help but feel pity when I see you wrapping yourself in hostility and making absurdly false claims to the world," and added, "If you truly wish to protect your family's honor, from now on, speak only the truth about what actually happened."
