Kazakhstan Consul General Visits Southeast Radiation Oncology Institute to Discuss Medical Cooperation
Cooperation Measures for Precision Cancer Treatment
and Advanced Radiation Technology
Southeast Radiation Oncology Institute (Director Lee Changhun) announced on May 27 that Aslan Askar, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Busan, visited the institute on May 21 to discuss strengthening medical cooperation between the two countries.
This visit was organized to explore ways to collaborate in advanced medical technology fields such as precision oncology and radiation therapy, and to expand practical exchanges aimed at improving the health of the people of Kazakhstan.
Last year, Southeast Radiation Oncology Institute participated in the "Kazakhstan Busan Advanced Medical Technology Promotion Center and Medical Consultation Event," which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. At this event, the institute promoted the excellence of domestic cancer treatment technologies to local medical professionals and patients. The Consul General's recent visit is a follow-up discussion building on the achievements of that event.
Lee Changhun, Director of the Institute, said, "Based on our institute's precision cancer treatment technologies and extensive clinical experience, we hope to further expand medical cooperation with Kazakhstan in the future," adding, "We will establish a sustainable exchange system through initiatives such as the opening of a telemedicine center."
Consul General Aslan Askar emphasized, "Currently, about 2,000 Kazakhstani citizens visit Seoul every year to receive medical services. With the opening of a direct flight route between Busan and Almaty, we expect the number of visitors to Busan to increase, and we will actively support exchanges between medical institutions in both countries."
