With the theme "A World of Coding to Cultivate Essential Competencies for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Society," the event was organized in an environment identical to that of the International Olympiad in Informatics, attracting students' interest in artificial intelligence coding.
The event saw the on-site participation of 500 students from 119 elementary, middle, and high schools in the region, while students wishing to participate independently challenged themselves with coding problems online.
The Chungnam Office of Education is the first among the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide to establish and operate the "CodeOn" online coding grading platform, which strengthens student initiative. This competition was also conducted based on "CodeOn."
Superintendent Kim Jicheol stated, "This competition is a stage for challenge and cooperation, where students solve various problems using programming languages." He added, "I hope that all students who participated in the competition will nurture their dreams for the future and that this will serve as an opportunity to develop future competencies such as creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy."
