Joo Kyuil, Mayor of Jinju, Visits 54th National Youth Sports Festival Venues to Encourage Athletes
Active Support to Help Athletes Perform at Their Best
Joo Kyuil, Mayor of Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, announced on the 26th that he visited the competition venues for each event of the 54th National Youth Sports Festival (hereafter referred to as the National Youth Sports Festival) to encourage the athletes and check on the operation of the event.
Mayor Joo visited the archery venue at Jinju Sports Complex and the rowing venue along the Namgang River, toured the sites, and delivered messages of support to the participating athletes and coaches.

View original imageHe then visited the gymnasiums at Gyeongsang National University Chilam Campus and Sunmyeong Girls' High School, where volleyball matches were held, applauded the athletes for their hard work and passion, and encouraged the event staff.
Mayor Joo Kyuil stated, "The National Youth Sports Festival is more than just a sports competition; it is a stage for youth athletes to challenge themselves and grow by overcoming their own limits through rigorous training," adding, "Jinju City will actively provide support so that both athletes and spectators can focus on the games and perform at their best without any inconvenience."
In preparation for this event, Jinju City conducted joint inspections of the competition venues and accommodation facilities together with experts in fire safety, electricity, and gas, among other fields, in order to eliminate potential hazards in advance and to create a safe and pleasant environment for the festival.
Meanwhile, a total of 938 athletes from Jinju are participating in 17 events at the 54th National Youth Sports Festival, which is being held from May 24 to May 27. Five events?modern pentathlon, volleyball, soft tennis, archery, and rowing?are being hosted in Jinju, and the competition schedule and results can be found on the official website of the National Youth Sports Festival.
