KOTRA to Hold "Global Awards Winning Strategy Webinar"
Sharing Know-how for Winning Global Innovation Awards
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on May 26 that they will hold the "2026 Global Awards Winning Strategy Webinar" on May 28 for approximately 400 stakeholders in the startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Until now, the webinar has focused on the CES Innovation Awards as its main awards ceremony, but this time, the scope will be expanded to include the Edison Awards. The Edison Awards, along with the CES Innovation Awards, are prestigious accolades that have a significant impact on technological innovation and industrial development worldwide. Established in honor of the renowned inventor Thomas Edison, the awards are also known as the "Oscars of Innovation." Not only global conglomerates but also technology-based startups actively participate in these awards.
Applications for both awards are accepted annually between August and November through written submission of materials only. As the evaluation process does not require a separate IR pitch, the entry barrier is lower for companies that may feel burdened by English oral presentations.
This webinar will focus on practical topics such as an overview and winning strategies for each award, experiences and reference utilization by previous winners, application writing tips, and preventive education for protecting innovative technologies. In particular, CES Innovation Awards judges and the Edison Awards Organizing Committee will directly introduce the "A to Z" of each award, including the latest trends in winning technologies and key evaluation criteria.
Starting with this webinar, KOTRA will select 60 tech companies to participate in the "Global Awards Winning Support Program." Selected companies will receive a package that includes one-on-one mentoring for application writing and financial support for innovation award application fees.
