Shinsegae Simon Becomes First in Industry to Introduce "LINE Pay Taiwan" for Third Largest Group of Foreign Tourists Visiting Korea

"Enhancing Competitiveness for Foreign Tourists"
On May 23, Shinsegae Simon announced that it will introduce "LINE Pay Taiwan," the largest mobile payment service in Taiwan, at all of its outlet locations.
Since May 12, Shinsegae Simon has been operating the "LINE Pay Taiwan" service at all of its premium outlets (Yeoju, Paju, Busan, Siheung, Jeju) and at Yeoju Premium Village. LINE Pay Taiwan is the largest local mobile payment service in Taiwan, used by more than half of the Taiwanese population. This marks the first time that a domestic department store or outlet operator in Korea has introduced this payment method.

View original imageTaiwan ranks third among countries in terms of the number of foreign tourists visiting Korea. In response, Shinsegae Simon plans to strengthen customized services for Taiwanese customers and increase the influx of new visitors from Greater China.
To commemorate the launch of the service, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the afternoon of the 22nd at Shinsegae Simon’s headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to promote joint marketing targeting Taiwanese tourists visiting Korea. The signing ceremony was attended by Youngseop Kim, CEO of Shinsegae Simon, and Ungju Jung, CEO of LINE Pay Taiwan.
Recently, Shinsegae Simon has been working to attract foreign tourists by operating direct express buses, offering one-day shopping tour packages, and establishing major overseas mobile payment services.

Meanwhile, until July 31, a promotion will be held at all locations, allowing customers to earn up to 30% of their purchase amount in points when paying with LINE Pay Taiwan. LINE Pay Taiwan plans to introduce Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets as a must-visit destination for Korean tourism and to promote a variety of events and content at each store.
