Wando County to Handle Development Permits with Just One Click
Operation of Integrated Permit Support System
Online Applications to Begin Next Month
Wando County announced on May 21 that starting next month, it will officially launch the 'Integrated Permit Support System (IPSS)' to handle development permit applications online.
The IPSS, introduced based on the 'Special Act on the Simplification of Land Use Permit Procedures,' is a system that comprehensively supports various permits required for land use. It allows all processes related to development permits to be conveniently handled online.
Previously, applicants had to visit the county office in person to submit documents for development permits. However, with the introduction of the system, documents can now be submitted online anytime, anywhere, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Applicants can check the progress of their development permit applications in real time, and both permit issuance and completion inspection requests can be processed in a one-stop manner.
In preparation for the system's launch, Wando County held a meeting with local civil engineering and architectural offices, as well as administrative agencies, and sent out informational notices to residents to encourage online applications. However, the county plans to continue offering in-person submission for those who are not familiar with online services, such as elderly residents.
The county expects that once the system is fully established, management of development permit histories will be computerized, reducing the use of paper documents. In addition, online consultations are expected to shorten response times for civil complaints, significantly reducing the overall permit processing period.
Woo Hongrae, head of the Civil Service Division, stated, "Once the online development permit system becomes widely used, it will greatly alleviate inconveniences for county residents and enable faster and more transparent administration through text message notification services. We will continue to provide proactive civil services tailored to the needs of our residents."
