Police Arrest Cha Cheolnam, Suspect in Siheung Stabbing Incident...Plan to Seek Arrest Warrant (Comprehensive)
On May 19, police arrested Cha Cheolnam, a 57-year-old ethnic Chinese Korean, who had been publicly wanted as a suspect in the Siheung stabbing incident.
According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, officers apprehended Cha Cheolnam at around 7:24 p.m. that day near Sihwa Lake in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, on charges including murder.
Cha Cheolnam is accused of killing two people at his home in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, and stabbing and injuring two others, including a convenience store owner and the building's landlord, with a weapon.
It has been reported that Cha Cheolnam has fully admitted to his crimes.
