View original imageOn this day, Goyang Special City held a kickoff briefing for the research project on reorganizing the bus route system, marking the first step toward diagnosing the current operation of bus routes and systematically redesigning the network.
Approximately 20 people attended the kickoff briefing, including Lee Donghwan, mayor of Goyang Special City, members of the task force team for route system reorganization established in February, and officials from the research agency. They discussed the direction of the research and key diagnostic tasks.
The research project will be conducted over a total of 20 months, from April 2025 to December 2026. It will comprehensively diagnose structural issues across the entire Goyang area, including: analysis of current route usage, identification of overlapping and inefficient routes, assessment of congestion and punctuality, improvement plans for the main and branch line systems, and solutions for transportation blind spots.
Lee Donghwan, mayor of Goyang Special City, stated, "This reorganization of the bus route system is not just a simple adjustment of routes, but a fundamental redesign aimed at dramatically improving citizens' mobility rights and transportation services. Through 20 months of detailed analysis and by actively gathering diverse citizen feedback, we will develop a customized public transportation system that perfectly fits Goyang."
