Yongsan-gu Recruiting Students for Free Vocational Training Program with 73% Employment Rate
Specialized Training in Six Fields
Yongsan-gu in Seoul is operating a public-private partnership job-linked vocational education program to support stable employment for its residents. Building on last year's achievement, where 67 out of 91 program graduates (73%) successfully found employment, the district will collaborate with five institutions this year to offer six specialized training courses free of charge.

View original imageThis program is a grant project utilizing the Yongsan-gu Job Fund, and all training is provided free of charge. The five partner institutions are Yongsan Women's Resources Development Center, Korea Polytechnics I Industry-Academia Cooperation Group, Asia Aviation Vocational School, Sogang Vocational School, and Korea New Knowledge Industry Association. Training will be conducted sequentially from May 20 to November 26.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, "Through this public-private partnership job project, I hope residents will gain practical employment skills and open a new chapter in their lives. We will continue to discover quality jobs by listening to the voices of each and every resident."

The main courses are as follows:
*Metaverse-Based Future Education Instructor Training Course (May 20 - July 23): Hands-on training in VR content creation and metaverse-based curriculum design. Open to 20 Yongsan-gu residents. Upon completion, participants will be connected to instructor positions at youth education facilities.
*Basic Security Guard Training Course (First half: May 23-25, Second half: September 19-25): Mandatory legal training for security personnel. 50 participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis for the first half (apply by May 21).
*Fashion Design Pattern Making and Garment Production Course (May 28 - August 22): Training in garment pattern making techniques. 20 participants will be selected (apply by May 27).
*Pharmacy Office Worker Training Course (June 2 - June 30): Training in pharmacy administration, computer processing, and customer service. Preference given to women with career interruptions. 25 participants will be selected (apply by May 23).
*Generative AI Content Production Specialist Training Course (June 16 - August 20): Training in content creation using AI tools. Open to 20 young adults (apply by June 10). An information session will be held on May 29.

*Air Conditioner Installation and Maintenance Technician Training Course (scheduled for the second half of the year): Training to develop field-ready professionals. The course will be held at Korea Polytechnics Seoul Jeongsu Campus.
