Integrated Medical, Nursing, and Support Services to Launch in July
Starting in July, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province will provide an integrated service for citizens that combines medical, nursing care, and support services.
On May 15, the city of Siheung announced that it had been selected as a local government participant in the "Medical·Nursing Care·Support Integrated Service Technology Support Pilot Project" organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This project aims to enable seniors, people with disabilities, and others who have difficulties with daily living to maintain healthy lives at home. The local government will serve as the central hub, offering a wide range of integrated care services, including healthcare, health management, long-term care, daily living support, and family support.
Through this project, the city plans to proactively operate an integrated support system in preparation for the "Act on Integrated Support for Regional Care Including Medical and Nursing Care," which is scheduled to take effect in March next year. The city also intends to establish a community-based care model tailored to the specific needs of the local area.
In particular, the city will expand its currently operating customized emergency care system, the "Siheung Care SOS Center," to include healthcare services and care services for seniors and people with disabilities. This will allow Siheung to offer a more professional and comprehensive integrated care service starting in July.
