The Labor Day Government Merit Award, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, is a system that recognizes workers who have contributed to productivity improvement and labor-management cooperation in the industrial field.
Kim Doseop joined 'Hanguknoejip' in 2002 and has dedicated 24 years to preserving and promoting traditional Korean cuisine based on royal court food. He currently oversees the food division at Hanguknoejip as the team leader of the Korean Cuisine Research Team. Kim Doseop is a certified bearer of the National Intangible Heritage "Joseon Dynasty Royal Court Cuisine," and holds qualifications as an Outstanding Skilled Culinary Technician and Master Chef.
Kim Doseop expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank my colleagues and everyone who has preserved traditional Korean cuisine. Recently, public interest in gastronomy has increased due to figures like Heukbaek Chef, but genuine interest in traditional Korean cuisine remains relatively low. With this award, I will make even greater efforts to foster talent and improve the working environment for the revitalization of traditional Korean cuisine."
