Korea Tourism Organization Holds Barrier-Free Open Tourism Event at Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park
The Korea Tourism Organization announced on May 14 that, in cooperation with Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province, it will operate the special barrier-free open tourism program "Together at Gaetgol Ecological Park Sea" until May 28.
"Together at Gaetgol Ecological Park Sea" is a free program designed for people with disabilities (including companions) who are unable to enjoy travel due to physical, social, or economic challenges. The program consists of a variety of experiential travel content, including: an ecological tourism guided tour at Gaetgol Ecological Park, a photo tour accompanied by a professional photographer, recreational programs, and a barrier-free salt field experience. In addition, all participants will receive a photobook to remember their trip and Gaetgol salt produced at Gaetgol Ecological Park as souvenirs.

Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park, the venue for the event, was selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization as an "Open Tourism Destination" in the "2024 Korea Tourism Star" awards. It is a leading ecological tourism destination in the metropolitan area, where visitors can experience wetlands and salt fields.
Starting with the first event for visually impaired participants on May 12, the program will be held a total of six times throughout May. Detailed information about the travel program and how to apply can be found on the "Sea Month" campaign website.
