Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership Signs ESG Support Agreement with LG Innotek for Partner Companies
Joint Development of ESG Evaluation Indicators
The Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership announced on May 14 that it had signed a business agreement with LG Innotek to support ESG initiatives for partner companies.
The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of AP Tech in Songdo, Incheon, and was attended by Park Chihyung, Director of Operations at the Commission, Kim Junseong, Executive Director at LG Innotek, and Joo Jaechul, CEO of AP Tech, among others.
Through this agreement, the Commission and LG Innotek will jointly develop ESG evaluation indicators tailored to the electrical and electronics industry, and will provide comprehensive support to partner companies by applying these indicators for assessment, consulting, and improvement activities. Companies with outstanding evaluation results will receive a certificate of "Excellent ESG Small and Medium Enterprise" issued by the Commission.
AP Tech, which has been selected as an Excellent ESG Small and Medium Enterprise, is a key partner of LG Innotek, supplying manufacturing equipment necessary for the production of mobile phone camera modules. AP Tech achieved an ESG compliance rate of 83.0% and was certified as an excellent small and medium enterprise last year.
LG Innotek has participated in the partner ESG support program for four consecutive years and is also actively involved in the "Large and Small Enterprise Autonomous ESG Support Program," which the Commission is newly promoting this year. As a result, the number of partner companies eligible for ESG support this year has nearly doubled compared to the previous year, reaching 50 companies, significantly expanding the scale of support.
Park, Director of Operations, who attended the event, stated, "In an era where ESG is required throughout the supply chain, the ESG response capabilities of partner companies directly translate into industrial competitiveness. The Commission will continue to expand ESG cooperation models that enable both partner companies and large corporations to grow together."
