Business Agreement Signed on May 9 to Promote Women-Owned Businesses and Regional Economic Development
Establishing a Public-Private Cooperation System to Strengthen Women Entrepreneurs, Support Startups and Market Expansion
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) signed a "Business Agreement for the Promotion of Women-Owned Businesses and Regional Economic Development" with the Seoul Chapter of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (Chairperson Kim Youngsoon) on May 9 in the district mayor's office at the Gwangjin-gu Integrated Government Complex.
This agreement was pursued to strengthen the foundation for the growth of women-owned businesses in the region and to promote job creation and economic revitalization. The two organizations plan to establish an effective cooperation system, enhance the capabilities of women entrepreneurs, and increase economic ripple effects by linking local resources.
The signing ceremony proceeded with the signing of the agreement and a commemorative photo, attended by Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, Kim Youngsoon, Chairperson of the Seoul Chapter of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, and other officials.
The main points of the agreement include: mentoring for women CEOs; support for women's employment and startups; expansion of sales channels, distribution network connections, and R&D support for women-owned businesses; and operation of social value realization projects.
Kim Youngsoon, Chairperson, stated, "We will actively utilize the association's network and resources to lay the groundwork for expanding women's participation in economic activities and create a model of women-owned businesses that grow together with the local community."
