Korea Polytechnic University to Train Local Employees of Semiconductor Company Hana Micron in Vietnam
Operation of 11 Online Courses for Approximately 2,000 Employees
Korea Polytechnic University announced on May 12 that it will collaborate to provide training for local employees of Hana Micron's Vietnamese subsidiary through the Smart Vocational Training Platform (STEP).
STEP is an online career development platform that enables industrial and technical learning anytime and anywhere. It is jointly operated by the university's Online Lifelong Education Center and the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The university plans to offer 11 online courses through STEP for approximately 2,000 local employees of Hana Micron's Vietnamese subsidiary.
The training program consists of six courses on semiconductor packaging processes and manufacturing technology, as well as five industrial safety and health courses created using AI technology. These courses are designed to intuitively deliver essential safety knowledge and risk response methods required in industrial settings.
All courses are fully equipped with Vietnamese audio and subtitles. The STEP learning management system also provides customized services by converting key site content into Vietnamese, taking into account the characteristics of local learners.
A Hana Micron representative stated, "The need for technical training for local foreign workers is gradually increasing to strengthen competitiveness in semiconductor technology," adding, "It is meaningful to be able to establish a foundation for capacity building through collaboration with the university."
Lee Moonsu, Director of the Online Lifelong Education Center, said, "We will continue to make efforts to expand international talent development projects utilizing STEP in the future."
