Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office and Honors Club Committee Visit the Grave of Independence Activist Heo Yunsong
On May 8, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs visited the grave of the independence activist Heo Yunsong, together with members of the Ministry's Honors Club Committee.
Heo Yunsong, an independence activist from Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, joined the 1st Detachment of the Liberation Army, where he was responsible for propaganda operations, intelligence gathering, and interrogating Japanese prisoners of war, as well as participating in guerrilla warfare. In 1990, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation, Patriotic Medal. His grave is located in Gimhae City.
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office has been visiting the graves of independence patriots every month to express gratitude for their sacrifice and dedication. In May, the visits were made together with members of the Honors Club appointed by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, adding further significance to the occasion.
Jung Jooyoung, CEO of Cosmedison, a company that develops and sells automotive exterior care products, has been supporting veterans' families since 2020. In 2024, he was appointed to the Ministry's Honors Club and has been participating in various veterans affairs initiatives.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs has launched the "Dream of Patriots for All" online donation website to collect contributions. The funds will be used to support the housing, education, emergency relief, and overall well-being and healthy retirement of national merit recipients and their families.
