Seminar Held on Strategies for Developing Regional Innovation Industries

View original imageThe Democratic Party of Korea's Future Economic Growth Strategy Committee (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee") held the "Gwangju-Jeonnam Innovation Industry Development Strategy Seminar" on the 8th at the multipurpose auditorium on the 9th floor of Jeonil Building 245 in Dong-gu, Gwangju.
On this day, Democratic Party lawmaker Ahn Dogeol (Gwangju Dongnam-eul, Senior Vice Chair of the Committee) sought to discover future growth engines for Gwangju and Jeonnam and to explore directions for regional industrial innovation through the seminar. The event was attended by Lee Eonju, Chair of the Committee; Yang Bunam, Chair of the Democratic Party's Gwangju City Chapter; and lawmakers Lee Gaeho, Min Hyungbae, and Jeon Jinsook, among others.
In his welcoming remarks, Representative Ahn emphasized, "Gwangju and Jeonnam must foster innovative industries such as AI, future mobility, and bio-clusters to become hubs of future growth."
During the subsequent presentations, Hwang Cheolho, Policy Advisor of Gwangju City, and Moon Wankyu, Head of Management Division at Gwangju Urban Corporation, each gave presentations on the creation of an AI Computing Park and a National Future Mobility Industrial Complex. Min Jungjun, President of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, delivered a presentation on the development of an urban-integrated bio-cluster.
In the panel discussion, which included experts from various fields, participants discussed a variety of opinions on ensuring the sustainability of the regional economy and establishing a future industry ecosystem for Gwangju and Jeonnam. The discussion also featured in-depth proposals and debates on practical policy directions and implementation measures.
Representative Ahn stated, "Based on the opinions discussed today, I will do my utmost to ensure that Gwangju and Jeonnam are adopted as core hubs leading Korea's future industries as part of the new government's policy agenda."
