Daejeon Selects 10 "D-Unicorn" Companies... Provides Growth Acceleration Funds and Support
Distributed Across Diverse Fields Including Machinery, Robotics, and Functional Materials
The Daejeon city government announced that it has selected 10 promising venture and startup companies to participate in the "2025 D-Unicorn Project."
The selected companies received high marks for their technological capabilities, growth potential, and market scalability. They are distributed across a variety of industries, including machinery and robotics, functional materials, biotechnology, renewable energy, electrical and electronics, and information and communications.
The city will provide each company with approximately 70 million KRW in growth acceleration funds and offer customized programs that can practically drive their growth, such as prototype production, product advancement, technology transfer, intellectual property acquisition, consulting, and marketing support.
In addition, the companies will be granted "Unicorn Membership" and receive priority access to the "D-Unicorn Lounge," a business-exclusive space established by the city.
The "D-Unicorn Project" is Daejeon's flagship startup and venture support program, selecting 10 companies each year since 2022. Eligible companies must have their headquarters in Daejeon, have been in business for more than three years, and be unlisted small or venture enterprises that have raised a cumulative investment of at least 500 million KRW within the past five years.
