SPC Shake Shack to Open "Seongsu Branch" Featuring Shake Bar
First-Ever "Shake Bar" Among Global Shake Shack Locations
Art Gallery Showcasing Works by Artist Kevin Park
SPC Group announced on April 30 that the hamburger brand Shake Shack will open its "Seongsu branch" in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, on May 1.
The Shake Shack Seongsu branch is the first Shake Shack location worldwide to specialize in shake products. The store is located on Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu-dong and spans three floors with a total of 109 seats. The first and second floors serve as dining areas, while the third floor is used as an art gallery or pop-up space. This reflects the unique characteristics of the Seongsu area, which is popular among people seeking diverse tastes and new experiences.
The Shake Shack Seongsu branch will operate a dedicated "Shake Bar" on the first floor. The store will offer customizable shakes, allowing customers to choose from 17 different toppings, such as strawberry puree, chocolate cookie fudge, and raspberry, to add to Shake Shack's signature classic shake. In addition, three limited-edition shakes inspired by the Seongsu area will be available exclusively at this location.
The three shakes are: "Craftsman's Spirits," inspired by Seongsu's old leather workshops and featuring flavors such as whiskey, cold brew, and dark chocolate; "East Side Cheese," which combines the flavors of cheesecake, strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry; and "Chocola-tea Seongsu," which highlights the taste of chocolate and milk tea.
The Seongsu branch features a unique interior that combines the local identity of Seongsu, known for its leather street, with the concept of an American-style diner. The store is decorated with neon signs, mosaic tiles, and leather sofas. In collaboration with artist Kevin Park, the store displays "Shack Diner in Mars," an artwork depicting the opening of a Shake Shack diner on Mars, creating a special atmosphere. On the third floor, works by artist Kevin Park will be exhibited until May 14.
