"Taking the Lead in Raising Information Security Awareness"
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency announced on the 30th that it has achieved the highest grade for the third consecutive year in the "2024 Personal Information Protection Level Assessment" organized by the Personal Information Protection Commission.
The Personal Information Protection Level Assessment is a system that evaluates the personal information management systems and breach prevention levels of 1,426 organizations, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions.
This year marked the first assessment since the transition from the previous public institution personal information management level diagnosis to an evaluation system. In addition to the level of personal information protection, the assessment also evaluated data utilization and security measures in new technology environments. A total of 45 organizations, including the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, received the highest grade, S, in this year's assessment.
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency stated, "We have achieved the S grade for three consecutive years by establishing and operating dedicated personnel and organizations for personal information protection, and by being recognized for our efforts to prevent personal information breaches, such as implementing safety measures." The agency also explained that its company-wide initiatives to raise awareness of personal information protection, particularly through employee participation activities, were highly evaluated.
