View original imageOn the morning of April 29, at the Chunguisa Shrine in Yesan, Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, attended the "93rd Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony for the Shanghai Incident of Martyr Yun Bonggil Maehun" and stated, "The courage of one person changed history, and the determination of one person awakened the pride of our nation."
He continued, "Currently, Chungnam is the only provincial-level region without a national cemetery, and we are experiencing both sorrow and inconvenience as we have to bury our local patriots in other regions." He emphasized, "Believing that it is only right for the heroes of Chungnam to be laid to rest in their homeland, I will do my utmost to cooperate actively with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to establish a National Memorial Cemetery in Chungnam."
He also added, "In line with our reputation as the 'land of patriotism and loyalty,' we will make Chungnam the leading province in the nation for honoring and supporting patriots and veterans." He further stated, "As a public official, I will always remember the spirit of putting the public before the private, as exemplified by Yun Bonggil, and apply it in my administration of the province."

View original imageOn April 29, 1932, Maehun Yun Bonggil threw a bomb at Hongkou Park in Shanghai, China, during the ceremony commemorating both the Emperor's Birthday and the victory in the Shanghai Incident, resolutely condemning the imperialist aggression of Japan.
This event, organized by Yesan County and the Maehun Yun Bonggil Woljin Association, was held to honor the noble patriotism and historic deed of Yun Bonggil. It was attended by over 300 people, including Governor Kim, the head of Yesan County, provincial and county council members, officials from related organizations, heads of institutions, and local residents.
