[Conference Call] SK hynix: "DeepSeek Catalyzes AI Development... Will Require High-Capacity Memory"
"High-capacity servers, the key to mid- to long-term server demand"
On April 24, during the 2025 Q1 earnings conference call, SK hynix stated, "Inference artificial intelligence (AI) models such as DeepSeek are adopting methods that accommodate longer inference processes for more accurate results, which will require more memory."
The company added, "As AI models require more hardware resources to deliver more sophisticated results, the focus of the AI market is expanding from model training to inference. This can also be seen as a factor that will generate additional demand for high-capacity memory."

SK hynix further stated, "We believe that high-capacity servers will be at the core of mid- to long-term server demand. Considering that DeepSeek has acted as a catalyst and broadened the base of AI development, we expect AI development and applications to continue expanding. This will drive long-term growth in AI server demand, which in turn will lead to increased memory demand."
